[ Already, Clover seems much more cheerful than the last time she posted; her hair's still a bright pink, probably recently touched up, and she's grinning at the NV. ]

So whoever does the horoscope's supposed to be pretty good at that, right? I'm not so sure I buy it. I mean, if I could read the future, I wouldn't wanna be stuck churning out ( Read more... )

What kinda experiment is that?

I can't tell you what the experiment's for! That might mess up the results.

It's nothing dangerous, though. Not for you, anyway.

Uh. Dangerous for who, then?

Maybe she likes giving advice.

What's the experiment for?

Or she could be messing people up on purpose!

I need to test if something works or not.

Did you get a horoscope you didn't like? Boo Hoo. Everybody has bad weeks.

What are you testing?

What are you, twelve? Anyone who believes what someone else says about their future probably deserves what they get. [ Teenagers always think they know everything. Of course, she's conveniently ignoring that she falls into that category herself. ]

I'm trying to see if I can get a message through. Are you in or what?

Assuming I say yes, I wouldn't have to drink any kind of suspicious looking beverage or anything would I?

The last time I did that my hair turned white for a week.

'Course not! All you have to do is tell me where you are, and I'll do the rest.

[ Ella has been here almost a year. She's yet to lose her trusting spirit. ]

All right. I'm in Sector Five - here, let me send you the directions, miss...er... what is your name?

[ Sending directions anyway! ]

What an intriguing idea for a game. Then again, I've never played a game before.

Never? [ She has a hard time believing it. ] Haven't you got any friends?

Never. [aaaaaaaaaand thinks about this, tapping her chin] I have my Thief. I suppose he counts. We're always together, after all.

Your "thief?" [ She doesn't miss the odd emphasis she places on the word. ]

I guess if you're always together, he probably counts as a friend.

What I don't understand is how these 'predictions' are meant to apply for everyone under a given astrological sign... At least lottery numbers would be easier, I would think.

[A wry smile.]

How specific do you need the location to be?

quadrifoliate September 12 2011, 06:57:37 UTC
It could be worse. At least it isn't predictions based on blood type, right?

[ Oh hey, she remembers this guy. She didn't get his name the last time, though, and it doesn't seem like a good time to ask. ]

I think the experiment has a better chance of working the more specific the location is. If you're in the tower apartments or something, at least let me know what floor you're on!

People do that? I guess I shouldn't be surprised...

At any rate. [He holds up three fingers.] Third floor, tower apartments.

Sounds pretty crazy, right? Some people even get arranged marriages based on stuff like that.

Okay, that's good enough! [ At least she's very familiar with where the Tower Apartments are, so it isn't difficult to visualize. It's not all that close to where she is now, though, so this might be a little tricky. ]

Before we start, can you tell me your name? I'm Clover. I'm gonna need you to close your eyes and try not to think about anything for a couple of minutes, okay?
