Twelfth Edition; Video
[There's something slightly off about Jack when he comes on camera. It's not his expression, though that's a little odd-- his face is pale, his mouth tight. And it's not his clothes, though they're odd too-- dirty and rumpled, as if he hasn't changed them in a while.]
I-- hi. Yeah. I just figured-- look, don't make a big fuckin' deal outta it, okay? Don't-- with the pity. I don't need that.
[His hand trembles slightly as he touches his fingers gently to one eye.]
I can't see. I'm-- I can't-- I'm blind. I don't know how. I can't fix it. We can't--
[And that's when one realizes what's wrong: Jack isn't looking at the camera. It isn't deliberate; he's staring where he knows the camera is, vaguely. But he isn't making direct eye contact.]
I don't know who did it. I don't know how. But I'm gonna find out-- and when I do, there's gonna be hell to pay.
