Twenty-one ~ Video

[The video shows Himawari’s hand drawing back from the NV after turning it on, seated at the Tower Apartment Office in the main Lobby. She is not smiling as normal. She hasn’t really been chipper or smiling for weeks now. The necklace cord sits around her neck still, her hand giving it a small tug before she speaks.]Hello and good evening everyone ( Read more... )

[That pretty voice again...]

Hello.. Himawari?

[Fumbling a bit awkwardly with his recorder.]

This is ah.. Will Graham. [The idiot who couldn't get your name right.] Just wanted to say thanks for helping me out a few weeks back. I know it's.. probably just your job and all, from the way you describe.

[He's not one for talking on the phone, in fact he thinks he's talking more to an answering machine.. thus the lack of pausing for response.]

I'm not much of a door-man.. but I-I'd like to come to that workshop. Least I.. maybe could see what you have to put up with.

[Doctor's orders were to make an effort to socialize outside of work and all.]

[As bad as her mood was lately because of this charm around her neck... she at least managed to smile as she heard that voice. It did feel like some time since she had heard him. She began to think he had returned home already.]

Mr. Graham. Will. It's very nice to hear your voice again. [There was the smallest of pause as she thought it over. She had actually enjoyed being able to help him.] It's alright. I would have spoke to you if it was my job or not.

Have you been doing alright? I thought you might have been sent home already. Oh, but yes! Please come. I realize some people aren't interested in the job aspect but the information is still very useful.

Oh.. no, no I just [Had myself committed.]

..Thought I should get some counseling. C-culture shock.

[More like severe mental breakdown.]

Doc just prescribed some extra.. curricular activities. S-so I'm glad I heard your bulletin.

Oh my. You did come into port wounded as well. I can't blame you for the culture shock. It's a very big change to have to deal with.

[A doctor hmm? Prescribed extra curricular activities? Must be more then physical, considering he got here back in mid June? Either that of he was much more wounded then she realized. She pondered it over for a moment and said]

You've almost been here for two full months, haven't you? Have you had the chance to explore much? I can give you some more ideas of the area if you need.

[At least she is trying to sound more cheerful then she is. Will was a nice guy after all.]

[If the slash on his face and the compelling urge to knock himself out counted as a wounds.. then maybe. There was a simper in the tone of his words, sensitive to her inflection and how she was going out of her way... He was grateful.]

Wounds? [nearly subconsciously touching his cheek.] ... O-oh you mean that.. It was nothing, ju..just a stupid fight I got in before I got dumped here.

[Bruises and bumps he made worse after punching out one of St. Theresa's orderlies.]

I really.. haven't really ventured far from Sector.. 7 I think. [Any place but the city. It had been hard for him to hit the cement pavement again.]

[Something about Will didn't stress her out or make her feel agitated. She didn't react to him as she did a few people lately, with aggressive words and emotions. At the moment she was more relaxed sounding then before. perhaps the charm did work once in a while.]

Smart or stupid having a fight before getting thrown here explains a lot of the disorienting problems you must have faced. The first time I got thrown into a new location I had a really hard time of it. [Now? Now it's almost normal...]

Sector seven is really lovely at times. Have you wandered further north of seven? There are some short cliffs and rocks facing the ocean. If you have time to sit and relax it is really worth the walk. Very peaceful. [Speaking of which, maybe that might help her again... hnn]

[He tended to have that effect on people... but it was rare he could say the same about anyone else; her honest voice was slowly dispelling that norm. Since his arrival he had been on pin and needles. Paranoia fueled his insomnia to damn him to a persistent cycle of fear and mistrust. It didn't help that he could barely believe most of the things he would see the moment he stepped outside... Which he hadn't done much thanks to said 'things'.

He did take one comfort in something though...]

I know.

I-I mean I've been... there. Thought I would put myself to use and found a boat-rental place there too. Figured I should get back to working with my hands helping with maintenance.

..Never thought the beach in Canada would be so nice.

[As charmed aggressive she's appeared lately, the simple things are what make her smile or sound like she's doing better. Less stressed. Even if only for a moment. The comments about the boat-rental place was one of those key words that put her into a bit more of a better mood]

Have you? And you've checked out the boating place? I keep wanting to go and see it but... [but she was worried it would be bad for the business, or anyone on the boat with her. Too much danger for her bad luck...] But I just... haven't made the time.

Have you been on the water then? Or just around the beaches?

[The subtle relief in her voice was enough to lift the little cloud of doubt that always seemed to cartoonishly hang over his head these days. Mutual content. Damn it was nice to feel that again. Even if it was through technological means.]

I've been asked to man a few tours here and there, nothing too important.

[If anything he was worried about his own terminal bad luck with just about anything and anyone he came in contact with. ... Engines for the most part seemed immune so far, but that did not stop his perpetual anxiety that something might go awry... This in itself could be seen as a small blessing, as it pushed him for perfection with more hazards on his own health, than that of others.]

You should come by sometime, the buzzing in your ear kind of sucks way out there if you're a rookie like me.

B-but probably isn't a problem for you.

((ooc: sorry about that, my adapter to my laptop decided it was going to die earlier last week so I had to order a new one. :c ))

[There was a smile in her voice at that though]

Tours would be fun though, I would think. Do you enjoy it at least?

[She pushed herself too, mostly to being more hazardous to her health then anyone else. That at least was something she could relate to]

The pull? I've... wondered what that would be like way out there. I wouldn't know actually. Rookie myself I suppose you could say. I've never stepped foot off the island. See? You've already done something more then I have. [that was also said in mild amusement.]

[[ooc: No worries! I never mind backdating. Glad you're back though. Broken computers are such a pain in the butt]]

[It was good distraction at least, as it was when he was at home fixing boats off the Florida keys. Just a way to waste the hours when not wasting away whiskey bottles.]

I like working with my hands.

[The less use of his brain the better. This stuff came without a second thought.]

The scenery makes it worth it, at least. Heh..

[There was a meek laugh under his breath at her pry. She got him there.]

Maybe you should come by sometime? Sure the boss wouldn't mind seeing someone not hellbent on capsizing his dinghies. Might be the closest to home you'll be in a while.

((ooc: My failure is still astronomical!! OTL ))
