This place is very odd. But that man is right. You're not alone, though; other people are used to a different date, too. I was.

Really? What date are you more familiar with?

I'm from [Late 80s/early 90s date goes here because specific canon dates, what are those.] And I'm originally from Germany, not Canada. But...maybe not the Germany in this world. I don't know.

London, myself.

[Strange.]

How long have you been here, Miss?

I've never been there. I always wanted to someday, though.

A little over a month for me. It feels longer sometimes.

I'm not sure of what it looks like now, but it wasn't very pleasant when I was there.

That isn't too long of a time, thankfully. Perhaps this..."Core" will send you home.

When are you from?

I hope so, eventually. There are some nice things about being here, but there are things I have to do at home.

1875.

I can't say I can see anything so nice here, I'm afraid.

Wow...you've come quite a long way.

I guess it depends what you've got to compare it to.

The change was startling, certainly.

[That's such an understatement, though.]

Nothing good back home, unfortunately.

I'm sorry to hear that.

There are things I don't like about this place, but other things are all right. It's really interesting, how much technology has changed--even more for you! And there's a lot of really, really good food.

[Oh. That reminds her that she's a little hungry.]

I don't think I'll be much good with things for a while. Is it difficult to live and work here?

I was lucky because a friend of mine is here and he helped you out. But there are a lot of newcomers like us here, so a lot of them help each other. There's even a fund if people need money.

Not all of the people who run businesses want to hire newcomers. But some of them are really nice--there's a man who runs a sandwich shop that always asks people about the worlds they're from. He says it's the next best thing to being able to travel and see them himself.

Someone told me there is no fund any longer.

I'll need to see who is willing, I suppose. I didn't have much of a job back home but I'll do just about anything to help.

[Clearly Nina got busy for a couple of days and missed that and there was no brainfart at all :T]

What are you good at? There's bound to be something you can do.

I've cared for some kids before. I can cook a little. [Not much.] I'm good with a blade, as well.
