Siren's Port Becomes More Honest By the Day
The article for today touches again on the recent rash of issues citizens have been having with being unable to be dishonest. The effects seem to have gotten slightly worse today, with the spells becoming stronger and the urge to tell the truth even more powerful, and affecting more people - far from the first few scattered incidents, it is now affecting a larger portion of the City with many more reports coming in by the hour. Several victims still report that they can keep themselves from confessing uncomfortable truths by refraining from speaking or telling only part of the truth.
The report closes off by stating that several of the City's most powerful telepaths have noticed that there is a certain psychic tone to the strange spells. The telepaths have commented that the honesty effects seem to be related to some sort of unconscious mental interference, but have been unable to pinpoint the source.
Perpetrator of Cynthia Catchwater Murder Turns Himself In
This is a small, sad blurb reporting an update on the case of a child, Cynthia Catchwater, who was reported missing over two months ago. The report states that the child's uncle, Dominic Catchwater, entered a Siren's Port police station and turned himself in, confessing over the course of 10 hours to taking the girl from her family and murdering her.
The story goes on to report that a little information has been leaked to the reporter after a generous donation to the Police Pension Fund, regarding the circumstances leading up to the murder. It seems that Mr. Catchwater was frequently in care of the child, and her parents, who he saw as unfit to care for her, were attempting to keep him away from her after implications of abuse on his part. He claims innocence to any abuse, and states that the girl was close to the baseball diamond because she wanted to see the newcomers. Mr. Catchwater retrieved her after she ran away and, with the threat from her parents, decided that if he couldn't care for her no one would. Claiming that she would be safer this way, he gassed her to death.
The report closes off stating that Cynthia's death was relatively peaceful and painless, and that Mr. Catchwater has lead the police to her remains so she can receive a proper burial.
