V. [Video] Lighting, What Is That.

Jun 03, 2011 18:04

[Hello. Siren's Port is receiving a feed that hasn't been used of late. And once it turns on, a silver-haired Nobody is shown sitting behind a desk. The room's subtle lighting creates a contrast of shadows among the First's features, enough to dramatize the setting and its subject without fully obscuring the shot ( Read more... )

[ For all his power, Xehanort has not yet shed one thing: his humanity. The chance in space, direction, motion, dimension, is of the kind that limited physical faculties - his eyes, his brain - were not made to comprehend. It is a phenomena that should not be and chemicals and synapses rebel against understanding when the point of his blade is no longer forward but elsewhere, so off in orientation that he is unable to detect exactly where his momentum is taking him.

He sees sand.

He sees sky.

Sand.

And sky again.

And always falling, in that long descent of dreams and mental instability that the laws of the universe have means of stopping. Whoever fashioned the fall has no regard for gravity.

His anger is monumental.

Within seconds he is bleeding darkness behind him, a long black trail that thickens with every fall, every pass. It slows him, doing the job of the absent forces so that, second by second, his momentum disappears despite the eternal sequence of earth and heavens. His head jerks to the side, yellow eyes watching through the blur of passing scenery and he sees.

Braig.

Shadows erupt outward, breaching the boundaries of the loop - So clever, always so clever - to claw and snag at the pieces of the world still stable, seeking to drag the master out. ]

[ The crackle of dark energy doesn't surprise him; if anything, he was waiting for it. A portal flares to life before them, and Xigbar steadies Xemnas just enough to ensure that he can stand on his own before giving him a little nudge, a subtle urgency to it that doesn't show in his expression.

Certain that he'll make it back to the new headquarters on his own, Xigbar turns to face the master, all smiles and cocky bravado. The Arrowguns appear in a flash, and as he brings them together, they connect, the tip of the barrel glowing as light begins to gather.

Seeking out Xehanort's gaze, the moment their eyes meet, he gives a little smirk. ]

No hard feelings, dude.

[ With that, he warps overhead and fires, aiming to knock him back into the paradox he's created. Whether it succeeds or not is beside the point. The ties have already been severed; he's just making it official. ]

[Passing from one dark setting into another is nothing new to him. Doing this in retreat, however, gives a Nobody's mundane action a somewhat new perspective.

The nudge is taken in stride, the First's exit not nearly as dramatic as it needed to be. Yes, he'll be able to make it on his own - he's not horribly injured as he could have been. But there is a moment taken to see what Xigbar goes off to do before disappearing as well.

It's just like the Second to get in the last word.

A false sense of satisfaction suffices as Xemnas turns, heading deeper into the darkness. Nothing else can be said. They were done here.]
