A date auction... well, it's what it sounds like, I suppose. You auction off the chance to go on a date with someone-- have dinner with them, or spend the day with them. Something like that. [ Pause, remembering Re-l's misgivings-- ] Er, it's with the complete consent of the person being auctioned off, obviously, and the understanding that they can't be coerced into doing anything they don't want to.

I understand how you feel, Mr. Edgeworth, but it's not meant to be all that serious. People can pool money together to 'save' a friend, for example; or people could auction out a service instead of a date, like... baking cookies!
