So why would you choose to work for the companies?

The companies pay well, they support families and pay health care, they even run their own schools and hospitals and support government endeavours and charities. There are AGi and SERO creches and playschools--are those inherently dangerous too?
Anyway, my point is that if you want to take a job with a company, you shouldn't let anyone's opinions sway you in the matter. I'll be working for the police myself, despite contempt from everyone who seems to consider the organisation corrupt, yet does nothing about it themselves. They'd rather start vigilante organisations operating beneath the law than do anything constructive for it. Maybe that shows you just how the priorities of your fellow newcomers function.
