[Cult Leader's Trial] Stand accused of cold seduction
Who: A Judge and 12 Jurors, an OPEN gallery of onlookers.
The Defense: (Poor DAs), The Defendant (The Cult Leader known as "The Prophet", Miss Sylvia C. Alcázar)
The Prosecution: Franziska Von Karma (backed by an AGI Legal Team)
Testifying Witnesses: Ciel, Alois, Liquid Snake, Allen Walker, Magneto, Fratley and Veser.
When: Monday, April 4th - Wednesday, April 6th
Where: City Hall- Courtroom C
Summary: The leader of the core cult faces charges for citywide terrorism, but the courtroom's still a bit of a madhouse. Franziska flips tables.
Warnings: May be some gruesome recounting of kidnappings, torture, ritualistic sacrifice.
The trial had seen a slight delay in starting- mainly because the jury needed to be re-selected from a much smaller pool. With half the city still running amok and fancy free, many were neglecting their civic duties. They'd finally managed to wrangle a Judge and a court reporter for the proceedings, although the Honourable Justice was still suffering from a bad case of lime-tinted hair and the giggles.
He also brought a squeaky toy gavel to the bench. No one seemed particularly eager to raise too much of a fuss over this, all things considered.
After a review of the docket, and a break for lunch...the circus could finally begin.
It wasn't expected to be the trial of the century- in fact, there was little question in anyone's mind that this cult business needed to be squashed by harsh punishment. But for what, and how? AGI had offered its expert legal team's advisers to the prosecution, pleased that a newcomer would be leading the charge (a woman who knew the victims would certainly garner more empathy) but also sat poised and keen to set this batty woman up neatly for a vicious corporate-driven civil suit to come.
The defendant herself sat silent, pin-straight dark blue hair hanging past her knees. She doodled funny little runic figures on her scrap paper, and her defense attorney kept shooting her wary looks, muttering at her to quit it, be still.
*SQUEA-KEEEEE!* *SQUEAK! SQUEAK!*
