(no subject)
Man, its amazing to me, but people are still freaked out about body hair! I was having coffee with some friends and one of them started talking about her female co-worker, who doesn't shave...and EVERYONE around the table was shocked and horrified.
"Ew!"
"Nasty!"
"Ugh, whats wrong with her!?"
"NO!"
And then one of them said something along the lines of if you are working in a public place, you should be required to shave. Um....what? I said that it's a person's choice if they want to shave or not and as long as they aren't walking around in a mini skirt making everyone touch their hairy legs (ie bringing excess attention to their non-shaving), it shouldn't be a problem in the workplace. But my comment got washed away in the wave of how 'inappropriate' body hair is and I felt awkward trying to bring it back up because I was so clearly in the minority(the balls to disagree with large groups of people....someday, I will have them).
I mean I choose to shave because I like having smooth legs, but I can't honestly see caring about what someone else does with their leg hair.:P
