Game on, Olympic style
So. Two thoughts on the first day (evening?) of Games coverage.
1) ...that was a SICK opening ceremony. I don't think I've watched more than patches of the opening previous years, but I watched the whole damn thing this time. And I pity London -- I have no idea how they are going to top that.
2) I hadn't been expecting to actually watch much coverage...but after seeing the ridiculous amount of live online stuff being offered at the NBC site, especially for all the "lesser" sports that I am often fascinated by, I think it is going to be eating waaaay more of my free time over the next two weeks than I had anticipated. Shit, I'm watching the China/Spain women's basketball game as I type this (I wanted to watch handball, but that was just finishing when I got over to it).
