Propane, where does it come from? I figured oil in some manner or another, like all fossil fuels (well, with the exception of coal), but propane isn't made for its own sake, but a by-product of processing natural gas and refining petroleum.
AND, propane itself doesn't smell at all, but there's an odorant added so you don't blow the shit out of your house after leaving the barbecue on.
So like, lesson for the day. Don't blow yourself up.

Edit: continuing on the dorkiness, methane = main part of natural gas. Ethane is the second largest component.
