My favorite trainee EVER is leaving on Friday. Having a hard time processing it.
The first week that she sat with me I had to do breathing exercises because she's so funny and disciplined and gorgeous and I just wanted to bask in her youthful glow forever. Once, when she forgot her glasses, she sat close enough that her knee would occasionally bump my leg. I swear my heart stopped.
Cut to present day. She's pregnant, so when I heard people talking about her leaving I assumed it was maternity leave. No. She gave notice. She only applied here to have some office experience on her cv when she applies for a much better job uptown. She's been saving money all along to cover living expenses between jobs. I stood quietly by her desk while she told me. Then she said that a 10 year old could do our job and it's boring and stupid. I walked away.
Covering the distance between her desk and my desk I went from being upset about her sudden departure to being upset that she was a bitch on stealth mode this whole time.
