So here's a one shot to keep you all happy while I think of how to update the fic, enjoy xD
Dedicated to Ninny xxxx
‘I know how to look after her mum, she’s my niece! Besides, she’s nearly two, she doesn’t even need that much looking after. Plus! I’m sixteen, you’ve gotta trust me at some point in my life.’ I was proud of myself, I had gotten my point across without raising my voice and waking up the baby. Jackpot.
‘Even so, I don’t think you should be on your own Sian, I’m going to go ask that nice girl from down the road if she wants to come and babysit with you to keep you company. She has a little brother so she should know something about babies and she’s your age, you never know, you might actually make a friend instead of pushing everyone away.’ Sometimes, I hate my mum.
‘Fine. Her name’s Sophie by the way mum. Little tip you might like to know about your daughter. She does have friends. She just doesn’t like going out.’ My temper may be flaring up now but I can’t help it. My heart is going into overdrive at speaking to Sophie. I’ve seen her a few times but never actually spoken to her. I’ve always been too shy.
‘Right well I’m just popping out to ask her. Any particular reason you already know her name?’ She had to ask. Think Sian Think.
‘Matt told me. He used to speak to her sister all the time, you know, the tarty one.’ Way to land your brother in it. Even better Jackpot.
‘Well I’ll be having a word with him about that when he gets home. I’ll be back past midnight so don’t wait up. I’ll tell Sophie she can come when she’s ready and she can sleep if she wants to, okay?’ Yesssssssss.
‘Yeh that’s fine mum. Bye.’ Otherwise meaning go and get here to come round NOW. Wow I like her.
Why did she have to slam the door? There WAS a sleeping baby in the house that I’ve now got to get back to sleep.
*Half an hour later*
‘Finally you little rascal, you’re already a nightmare.’ I whispered giggling at the same time.
‘You’ve got a nice laugh’ I heard a whisper behind me and spun around as fast as I could.
‘How did you get in here? And why did you come upstairs?’ I questioned her then motioned for us to leave the room.
‘You’re mum let me in ages ago and I sat downstairs but got bored and figured you must be up here. Anyway, where’s the hey Sophie, nice to meet you?’ She laughed as we sat on the double sofa.
‘Oh right, sorry. Erm... Hey then I guess.’ Because this isn’t awkward.
‘How come we’ve never spoken before? I always see you but never have the courage to speak to you. I’m actually glad your mum asked me to come around.’ She smiled at me, her smile is really nice. It makes her whole face light up.
‘I have no idea to be honest. I’ve always been nervous. What you wanna do?’ I asked so she didn’t look deeper into it.
‘Let’s play... Truth’ Her smile grew even wider. I hate this game. Always have. I can’t lie if someone wants the truth.
‘How old are you? Because I swear my mum said you were 16 not 6’ I laughed and winked at her.
‘It’s the best way to get to know somebody’ She shrugged
‘Fine, ask me something then.’ I said, the quicker we get started the quicker it will be over.
‘Are you gay?’ Throwback.
‘Erm... Wasn’t expecting that.’ It was the truth. I wasn’t.
‘Sorry, too foreword? It’s just, I’ve seen you loads and my gaydar keeps going off. Feel free to tell me to leave now that a) I’m gay, b) I just accused you of being gay.’ No No No. This is brilliant. She’s gay!
‘I’m not going to tell you to leave.’ I smiled at her before I continued. ‘But i’m not gay.’ Her face seemed to drop. It was confusing but sweet. Maybe she thought she’d found someone else gay she could talk to. ‘I do like this one girl though.’ She looked up at me with what looked like sadness in her eyes. Maybe I’m just looking too deep into this. Maybe she doesn’t like me. She’s only just met me.
‘Care to share? Do I know her? Does she live near?’ Bombardeddddd.
‘Slow down with the 20 questions. Yes you know her. Yes she lives a few doors down. But no I’m not telling you who it is.’ I laughed as her facial expressions changed randomly throughout my speech.
‘Your laugh is amazing.’ She mumbled.
‘What was that?’ I teased her.
‘Oh, nothing. Sooooo, anyway. Since you’re not going to tell me who you like I’ll tell you who I like. Don’t freak out okay. Promise me?’ What the hell is she on about?
‘Confused but yeh, I promise.’ I smiled. She took in a deep breath and held it in. This girl is crazy. ‘Just spit it out already.’ I giggled and at that she let out the breath and mumbled something although I couldn’t make out what she said. ‘What? You’re gonna have to not mumble.’ She grabbed my hands in hers and within a second I felt her lips come into contact with mine. Woah! Unexpected.
Wait! OMGGGGGG. She’s kissing me. Sophie Webster is kissing me. Oh no, she’s pulling away. Quick, kiss her back. Like Now Sian.
I put my hand on the back of her head and tangled it in her hair holding her lips onto mine. I ran my tongue across her bottom lip almost begging her to give me access. She accepted. We sat for about 5 minutes, tongues constantly battling, taking miniature breaths whenever we could. This. Is. Amazing. The only thing I could think at this moment in time.
We pulled apart and I looked into her eyes.
‘I like you Sian. I have done for a long time. I don’t know who you like but I just had to kiss you before I found out.’ So she hasn’t clicked yet.
‘Well, it was brilliant Soph, but I’m sorry, you’re just not for me.’ I paused and she looked down to her lap starting to play with her thumbs.
‘You’re for my heart.’ Her head shot up and I couldn’t contain my laughter. I fell onto the floor clutching my stomach. I felt a presence beside me and stopped laughing. Her lips were millimetres away from mine. I slowly leaned in. Right on queue the baby started to cry.
‘Urghh!!!’ I moaned.
‘I’ll go if you want.’ She’s so sweet.
‘Thanks, if you don’t mind. You want a cuppa?’ I asked.
‘Tea please. I need calming down.’
‘Oh yeah? And why’s that?’ I smirked trying to wind her up.
‘Because you just took my breath away.’ Backfireeeee.
‘Shush. Go see to the devil child.’ I giggled a little feeling myself go red.
*A few minutes later*
‘Sian?!? I’m home!’ Oh God. It’s Matt. ‘Has she been good for you?’
I walked into the hallway to greet him, I was holding mine and Sophie’s drink in my hand and he took Sophie’s from me thinking it was his.
‘That isn’t for you. She’s been fine. Mum’s only been gone a bit. You can take her now though. I have company.’ I winked at him and took the drink back as Sophie walked down the stairs.
‘She’s dropped off ag.... Oh, hey.’
‘Oh good, thanks. This is Matt by the way. My big brother.’ I smiled and handed her the cup of tea and walked into the living room hoping Matt wouldn’t follow us. But he did.
‘Who’s this then eh Siany?’ Anddddd, it begins.
‘What does it matter to you?’ I may sound harsh but he always winds me up.
‘You’re my little sis aren’t you? Can I not know who this gorgeous goddess before me is?’
‘You know who she is so shut it. I’m being serious here Matt. This is important to me. Don’t ruin it. Please.’ He was the only person I’d told about Sophie. That was only because I wanted to know her name. I do trust him to keep it secret, I just wish the same could be said about trusting him not to embarrass me or wind me up.
‘How does he know me?’ Sophie questioned with a puzzled look on her face.
‘He shagged your sister.’ I laughed knowing full well that Rosie Webster would not have let him anywhere near her. I just wanted to see Soph’s reaction. There was none, which shocked me a bit.
I turned to face her. She was staring. At me. I waved my hand in front of her face. Nothing. Clicking. Nothing. Final try. I leant in and pecked her on the lips. I pulled back before she could kiss me back. It worked. She shot her head around to face Matt with a ‘He’s here’ kinda face.
‘Relax, he knows I like you. I can tell him anything and he’ll keep it a secret.’ Her body dropped with relief and she snuggled into me on the sofa. Matt had just been watching us without speaking for a while now. He was thinking of something embarrassing to say and I knew it.
‘Don’t listen to what Matt says when he next speaks. He’ll try to embarrass me’ I whispered into Soph’s ear and she giggled. ‘Okay’
‘Ahh, so that’s why you wanted me to take Lisa now instead of stopping a while like usual. Yous two want to get Jiggy with it.’ How I hate him sometimes. ‘Company eh?’ My. God.
Sophie sat there quietly for a few seconds while I gave Matt evils. Suddenly, she just started laughing. Like really laughing. It was so cute.
‘What’s so funny?’ I asked her.
‘Jiggy? What kind of a word is that? Getting Jiggy with it. Sorry, just sounded funny.’ Seriously?
We sat just staring into each others eyes for ages. They were so enticing. We started leaning in dramatically slow. I felt her lips press against mine and her tongue asking for entrance which I swiftly accepted. The kiss was getting rather heated when Matt spoke.
‘I think this is my queue to leave.’ Matt whispered and walked out to get Lisa. I had totally forgot he was here. A minute or two later and he popped his head around the door and waved bye then left.
‘So, what do we do now?’ Sophie thought out loud I think.
‘Can I ask you something?’ I asked nervously.
‘Go ahead.’ This is really weird. Please say yes. Pretty please.
‘Will you... Sophie, will you be... Be my girlfriend. Please?’ Wow, always though people were over-reacting when they said this was hard.
‘YESS!!!’ She instantly said, well, more like shouted quietly.
‘That must have been the speediest reply ever.’ I laughed and pulled her into a kiss.
‘Thank you’ I don’t get it.
‘What did I do?’ I have no idea why but I feel shy. I’m usually quite confident.
‘You just asked me to be your girlfriend.’ She blushed.
‘Well if you want something badly enough there is no point in waiting.’ I beamed.
‘I’ll kiss to that’ She laughed and leaned towards me. I was in heaven.
Our tongues battled for a few minutes before I felt her hand slide up my top. The feeling of her on my bare skin, even if it was just her hand made me feel like I was on fire. My hands untangled there selves from her hair and helped me , with no previous intentions, to manoeuvre our bodies so she was lying down with me straddling her. This was it. This is my dream come true.
‘I think I love you’ I whispered as I lowered my lips down to meet hers. I didn’t mean to. It just happened. I was so glad it did though when she whispered back ‘I know I love you.’ just before our lips touched. I smiled into the loving kiss thinking of the possibilities the rest of the night could bring.
Hope you liked it, a bit long but I'm sure you'll all cope :D Lomi xxx
