Another round of 6 AM meowing from Goblin. Spraying him with water got him to stop for, oh, five minutes.
I'm going to try making them wait until after I've showered. If that means after workouts too, then they shouldn't have been so crappy in the first place. Today, of course, when I was trying to mix up the food for the shabby tabby, the lid flew off the jar and two cups of food went all over the kitchen floor. So I got to sweep it up as three cats were trying to gobble down as much as they could.
(I hate these cats just now.)
I made this yesterday:
http://ffrecipes.wordpress.com/2013/08/17/cosmo-canyon-chicken-and-rice/ I made it with chicken thighs instead of breasts, because thighs were on sale for 59 cents per pound. The rice took a long time to cook, but it's really tasty. Later this week I'm thinking of doing coq au vin, because two bottles of homebrew wine is easy and, yeah, we have lots of chicken thighs.
I am really trying to eat healthier. GenCon was full of junk food, alcohol, and coffee, and I felt like death by the end of Saturday night. A dinner of hamburger, a pot of coffee, and cheap bourbon is not a very good dinner.
I haven't really recovered all the way from GenCon. Still kinda in a fog. There were some other things this year that didn't work terribly well and I didn't write about so far, but that can wait until later. I've got a rotation student recruitment pitch to do shortly.
Even though it's not practical this week, I miss running my games. I also keep starting new books, which may be an indicator of my still disordered mental state.
Shogun, Declare, Hound of the D'Urbervilles, Eyes of the Overworld, Judgment of Tears: Dracula 1959, The Pyrates, Kraken.
