I did a lot better preparing for my prelim than I did preparing for a wedding and honeymoon if I'm being honest. I am unsure if that's because my approach was better or if I was just more focused. Part of it may have been the fact that the prelim was more about motivating and coordinating myself, while the wedding is about coordinating other people..
Certainly 90s music made a good soundtrack. I've had soundtracks week by week this year but nothing as an over-arching theme. (By 90s music I mean good stuff - Green Day, Pavement, RHCP, Bush, Smashing Pumpkins, occasionally Smashmouth, and so on..)
We're thinking of having Pavement's Spit on a Stranger for the first dance song. It's pretty weird but neither of us like sappy songs all that much.
If anyone says "Oh! It's that song from How I Met Your Mother!" I will cut them.
