Moscow day 3

Aug 23, 2008 11:26

The second day in Moscow, we hauled arse to Chechura collector, popping a lid in a small intersection with moscowhite and the_reverse. Chechura was cool, a veritible minefield for ones feet, what with all the rubble and the disintegration of the floor. Multiple flooded sections later and we had reached the intersection with Chernegrazkia, the side river that connects near the systems outfall. Cheregrazkia was the more interesting of the two, containing scenes of wonderful mass construction carnage. In due course the tunnel shrank and much to Quantum X's chagrin, we continued... emerging to an amazing section of tunnel i had seen photos of on paratozor's blog, that forms an odd stone elipsoid with a crazy set of stairs.

We popped a lid out to the back alleyways and head back to the hostel via our hundredth street kiosk.

Ive never in my life had so much currency in my pockets, id hate to ever see 1 million rubles.... Likewise i NEVER drink bottled water but QX and DS are so paraniod about getting the Big D (dysentary, thanks to Colleens tales of having it for 6 months in the 'Baijan) in time for their Mongolian desert trip that their parnoia has spread like a dose of... dysentary.

That evening we met up the_reverse, urban_psychosys, id_psyduck, 736b796669 and a crew of others, bought vodka and beer and headed to abandoned steam tunnels, then to a McDonalds, then a short walk to the Moscow State University where we hustled down into the utility tunnels where the 15 of us had teh mad Diggers party beneath the steps of the main lecture hall, smoking a hookah, and swigging crazy arse purple vodka chased by pickled gherkins and chewy lollies.

Us softcock foreigners deemed it time to go home at 3am, so our kind hosts hailed us a pirate taxi home.
