Where can i gush over the brilliance that is Colin Morgan? I watched Merlin S02 E01 today and there's this scene where he's just woken up from being poisoned with some gas and is trying to keep up with what is happening.
Arthur: What are you doing?
Merlin: Nothing.
Arthur: I can see that.
Merlin: I wasn't sleeping. I was... I was just bending down.
Arthur: Looking for something.
Merlin: Ye-eshhh... (I love how he falters here, because he's not sure where Arthur's going with this and what he's agreeing to.)
Arthur: Perhaps we're looking for the same thing.
Merlin: What? (This he says very quickly, logical, since Merlin wants to get the measure of the situation.)
Arthur: Oh, I don't know.. THE HORSES!
Merlin: The horses. (Here his voice breaks in the middle so that the first part of the word is just repeating after Arthur and the second part is when he gets it. IT'S SO BRILLIANT! HOW DOES HE COME UP WITH THIS STUFF?! AND HOW DOES HE DO IT? I find it hard to make my voice brake on command. I'm in awe. Really. I was in awe watching the first season and now my awe is reinvigorated. He makes these scenes that would otherwise be boring or cliched and brings this unexpected life to them.)
