I've heard it all before - you will concede.

Okay, so I was on my way to urgent care last night.  I had to get gas at 82nd, so I took 205 to Vantucky.  While I was still on Glisan, on the bridge before you can turn left onto 205 north, I saw a cop car coming the other direction hit his lights and pull a u-turn.  He sat at the light, right next to me - I was in the left turn lane and he was in a lane for going straight.  After the light turned, I paused to see if he would cut in front of me.  He didn't move, so I decided to go.  As I'm getting to the bottom of the on-ramp, I see his lights behind me, and go, 'oh, fuck.'  But he's still quite a bit behind me (to the point where I can't see his lights for a few seconds), and I have no place to pull over at the moment, so I keep going, cautiously.

As I am looking into my rear view mirror, I see the most incredible sight.  There is a fucking herd of cops cars - spread across the freeway... just fucking dozens of them.  Maybe as many as fifty.  Lights going.  I go, "well, fuck, that cop ain't after me, because I'm not bad enough to get this kind of attention."  So I speed up to get to where I can pull over, and do so.  A moment after I do, this ford excursion comes hauling by at over a hundred miles an hour.  He is being followed by this swarm of increasingly angry police.

So I let them all pass before I start driving.  Even after they had gone, there were still other cop cars without their lights going just whizzing by me.  I get to the exit for 30 west bypass just in time for all traffic on 205 to stop completely.  Ahead of me, I can see the swarm of police vehicles stopped, so I dodge out and decide to cross over to 205.

I decided to look on the news today to see what the fuck it was all about.  I found this story:

The dumbfuck was running from the cops cause he got caught stealing at WinCo.  WinCo gets the police to issue you a fine (about 500 - 2 grand), and bans you if you are caught.  This guy decides to evade that, gets himself into a high-speed pursuit, and in the end, ruins his vehicle AND gets to face extra charges which will include jail time, plus he still has to pay his fine.

Estimated cost of fine = $500-$2000.
Estimated cost to replace demolished vehicle = $4,000-$40,000
Jail time = imminent
Getting fired from job because of jail time = imminent
Trying to get a new job after jail time = very difficult

Now, how to pay those fines when you cannot work....
