This has been bugging me

It's Ash Wednesday tomorrow apparently, which means there are approximately six weeks until Easter.  Yet Easter eggs have already been on the shelves since the first of January.

Let's spend a moment of silence contemplating that.  Easter eggs came out in January.  Easter is usually in April.

That means Easter chocolate is in circulation FOUR MONTHS prior to the day on which it's supposed to be given.

Where is the logic in this?  Chocolate isn't like a bike for Christmas!  It's a perishable item!  Who wants to eat four-month-old chocolate?  It's not likely to kill you, but the cocoa butter will have almost certainly separated in that time.  That's when milk chocolate is
covered in white spots and starts to taste like carob-scented cardboard.

The only conclusion I can draw is that it's all a cruel plan to take advantage of the weak-hearted chocoholic community.  They purchase their Easter eggs earlier, but driven mad by the temptation of chocolate in the house, consume it before the day, and are thus being forced to go buy MORE chocolate.  And so capitalism wins again.

Thinking about stuff like this is probably why I forgot half of my grocery list on Sunday and have to buy lunch for the rest of the week.  :|

too much spare time, conspiracy
