It's been an absolutely fucking exhausting two days, and Mikal is pretty sure she falls asleep even faster the second night, even in the absence of a fucking Skrull battle during the day. All of it is still more than she can wrap her head around, and while at first, she'd just thought it might have been some fucking weird dream, she's been quickly realizing that that isn't exactly true. What she's supposed to do about the long-term, she doesn't yet have any idea; mostly, she's been trying not to think about it. Recently, she'd been thinking that she would be glad if she was sent back, knowing that now, she could really be alive. As it turns out, though, that really isn't the case, and it's enough to make her regret really fucking quickly ever even thinking that might be true. Just to get to do the last week or so over again would be fantastic, at this point. At least she wouldn't have to think about Zia thinking she somehow left because she wanted to.
What she isn't expecting is to wake up next to another body, and a familiar one at that. While at first, she's too disoriented to make heads or tails of it, she realizes pretty fast that she isn't in Manhattan anymore, and half-asleep or not, the relief in that is indescribably overwhelming. Smiling a little, she keeps her eyes mostly shut against the light filtering in as she leans closer, head tilting so she can catch his mouth gently with hers. "Zia," she sighs contentedly, keeping him close. She doesn't really want to wake him up just yet, though, and she's content enough to just lie there that she doesn't need to do anything else.
