Here are three tips that may or may not improve your life.
The first. If you are a chap and you suffer from back problems, try taking your wallet out of the back pocket of your trousers and keeping it somewhere else. I was amazed how much difference it made.
The second, if you are a cyclist you will know the age old problem of parked cars randomly opening their doors directly into your path. Often you can see through the back of the car whether or not there is an occupant in the driver's seat. For taller vehicles, or ones with opaque backs (like white vans), you can often use the driver's side wing mirror to see if there's someone in the driver's seat. This won't stop them opening the door, but at least you'll be ready for it.
The third. If you are going to do a workout at the gym, make sure to take a pair of shorts with you. Today's was the shortest visit to the gym ever!
[edit] actually, there was a shorter one not so long back. It went something like,
"Hi! Not flooded are you?"
"Erm, yes, the basement is, we're just trying to sort out some kind of `closed due to flooding` sign."
"Ah."
