sparkley gusher juice

zach and caleb ordered a dozen bottles of italian soda syrup a few weeks ago and it got here today, so when caleb got home at 10 p.m. they finally broke open the box and decided to make a whole bunch. Both Kiran and I have never had italian soda, so we got to play guinea pig. (for those, like me, who have no idea what italian soda is, it's this syrup mixed in seltzer water.) these syrups come in all kinds of flavors including, but not limited to: Chocolate (dark and swiss), Vanilla, Almond, Mint, Mango, Strawberry, Blackberry, Pinapple, Cherry and Orange (these are the flavors the Geeks bought [2 vanillas]). Because I am not one for most fruits, we started with a chocolate vanilla mix, that i did not like.

then we tried the other chocolate, with just a touch of almond, also, i disliked. couldn't place it exactly, but i think it may've been that i smelled chocolate like chocolate liquor, but instead of a liquor kick, you get sparkley soda texture. it was strange and bad, and i didn't like it. but i suggested that this was perhaps the case and to risk it and try a fruit flavor. We picked strawberry.

It was strong and sweet. Really, it tasted like sparkley gusher juice! Not kidding! (try it) it's one of the strangest things i've ever had! mostly thinking of matt right now (the whole gusher thing, you understand), but i keep taking little tiny sips of it and i'm surprised every time at the taste + texture. it's so weird! i don't think i'll be having italian sodas much this summer, but we've got enough syrup to last that long if we all had one a day. maybe we'll try cream sodas (italian soda + half and half) later.
