As GLaDOS spoke, the walls in the room shifted. Apparently all of the plates were hooked to moving arms. As they shifted, the damage from the earlier outburst was replaced and the surface of the room was left immaculate. Can't fire a portal onto an uneven surface, after all, that would be madness. The cameras and turrets, however, had all been off-lined.
It was a setback, but not a particularly terrible one.
"The following [ TEST CHAMBER ] will challenge you to utilize the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device in order to progress."
Though the turrets were gone, there was a healthy amount of putrid looking, green water, crackling with the hum of electricity, and several of the wall plates had been replaced with heavy metal spikes. It did not appear to be a cheerful room.
"The following Testing Encouragement Elements have been added in order to augment the experience: an a◄☼♦▓│▓▒«▒▒▒▓▓▓▓▄▌▌▄▬►◄;awe_eutit.ill00];and tomorrow's lunch will be fishsticks--So please take caution. Thank you."
The room was still as the voice cut out, but the moment Arkady stepped from the elevator, the giant spike covered panels would begin to clash together. The only path across the room appeared to be a narrow series of platforms, far too well spaced to actually jump across.

[And she steps out of the elevator, realizing meanwhile:] I can't hear the screaming in here. [She means the Marker. But oh look, the walls are closing in.
Her eyes dart from wall to wall, then from the edge in front of her to the edge she's meant to reach, much too far to jump.]
No fair. I can't teleport here!
[But wait, there's this random contraption on her arm...
She waves it around a little, then pokes and prods at it. That usually seems to work with the bracelet things.] I don't know how to work these things, I haven't even seen any in a long long time.

"To utilize [ THE DEVICE ] take aim and depress the►INITIALIZATION SWITCh within the maaaaaaaaaain housing. Connect the two Portals in order to travel through the obstacles."
That was quite enough help. GLaDOS's cameras refocused on Arkady. Perhaps some further encouragement.
"At the request of the SUBJECT, following testing, there will be [ VARIABLE FOOD: FISHSTICKS ]."

And then the voice offered fishsticks.
Arkady grinned up at the camera, lifting her device-arm in an attempt to salute. "Yes, ma'am!"
And now she turned back to the test ahead of her. There was an orange oval up on one of the platforms, was that where she was supposed to go? 'Connect the two Portals'...
Aiming her device at a nearby wall, she pulled the trigger-switch and a blue oval shot out onto the wall. Through it, she could see... the ceiling? Arkady stepped over to it, leaning through and looking around. Yep, this was on the platform alright. She retracted all but her arm, waving it through the portal and giggling just a little as what appeared to be a random bodyless arm waved at her from her destination.
But okay, enough messing around. The musical robot said fishsticks, and she was surprised at how hungry the thought of fried food made her. So she was stepping through the portal now, looking around for her next target.
[ooc: So in Portal, GLaDOS usually doesn't talk much between the beginning and the end, so do you want to play it out or just skip ahead?]
