Every time he comes across the suit, he recalls distinctly what occurred before, and the end result -- having ended up here. Prior, he remembers dreading the countdown, and thinking deeply on the actions he took over the course of time. To examine himself, and question what he could take pride in. To this day, that is also true.
So he could take pride in being involved with Shockwave, at least. He was incredibly intelligent. Not quite perfect, but suiting for Soundwave; he considers him an equal or greater. So, inevitably, it became about protecting him.
Then he arrived here, with the damaged suit; it was barely clinging onto him, and some parts were partly melded to his skin. Skyfire had a more difficult time cutting those parts off.
Being organic again is. Odd, but not as hard this time.
He arrives back home, pausing to look down at the remains on the floor. It's almost like seeing pieces of himself, scattered across the place.

When Shockwave works he can become incredibly involved. Focused. To a point where it sometimes becomes difficult to notice what is going on around him. More so now that there isn't a constant war and he needs to keep alert. So when Soundwave returns home and speaks to him it takes a moment for it to register in his head.
"Hm?"
He places a piece of metal back on the floor before looking up. "It does have to get done. It is quite important after all."
Certainly one of the most important things that needed to get done.
ARE YOU SURE THEY'RE DONE? also sorry for the short tag. next one will be longer promise.notsoloyalDecember 29 2010, 05:54:02 UTC
The scientist shakes his head, "It is not required, however I am not opposed to your assistance. If that is what you wish."
There certainly was nothing wrong with allowing Soundwave to help him rebuild the suit. It did belong to the communications officer after all, and he was capable of the work required. Certain things, perhaps, he would not be able to do, but overall there was no problem Shockwave could think of.

"ASSISTANCE REQUIRED?"
Shockwave's been so careful about it. It just reminds him of what happened. His own failure, and how that affected Shockwave.
None of that will happen again.
