[Delta's been very reclusive lately--not just lately, really. Ever since York had died, he'd only come out a few times to hang out in the apartment, and not at all since John had come to live with them. And why should he? Sarah had rightly raised him to hate and fear AI, and the idea that her "Chippendale boyfriend" had one living inside his head would probably not go over well.
Not that they could keep it hidden forever, or that any of them intended to do so, but Delta had felt it was easier to simply remain passive inside York's mind for the time being. Days had passed into weeks, and there had only been two things that drew his interest at all, lately. One was Flynn opening the Grid, and his simple fascination with the world created there and the digital translation of his mind to a humanlike body. The other was the Director's uncomfortable reminder of Delta's birthday.
It's that thought that has Delta up and flickering through the house tonight. He'd set it all up to be remotely controllable by himself, and he wanted to beef up the security a bit while he was still capable of doing so. If he did accept the Director's offer--or, alternatively, if he didn't and ended up succumbing to rampancy anyway--he'd need this to be safe from invaders.]
