MORNING RESCUUUUE

Who: Jin Tian and his clockwork cats Tick and Tock; also, Skyfire, Sarah Connor, Jade Harley, Davesprite, Anon, Samus Aran, Ladon Ceto, Nepeta Leijon and Karkat Vantas. And anyone else who wants to join, really.
What: Jin got his ass kidnapped and mutated, so a gigantic rescue party has formed to find him.

TEAM TICK

Tick looks up at his team of rescuers, debating whose shoulder will be most comfortable to ride on. His telescopic eye is already surveying the landscape, searching for any signs of life.

"We will begin by heading northwest," he says.

He's never had too much of a temper. He's never been a bitter or vindictive person. Mech. Whatever. Lately, things have been trying his patience. He told Jin. He told him, and the dragon deliberately went ahead with the most absurd, stupidity...

He's bristling and he arrives, visor shading his eyes, lips drawn into a tight line. He greets Tick briskly and tugs at his flight jacket.

"I can cover more ground alone," He says tersely, gesturing to the faux sky.

Tick peers up at Skyfire and decides, okay, he's the tallest one here. He'll make a good vantage point. He leaps up and lands squarely on Skyfire's shoulder, staring hard at him through his telescoping eye.

"And how do you think that you will be able to contact us if you find him? That is unacceptable, unless you are carrying signal flares." He tilts his head. "Are you carrying signal flares, Skyfire?"

Aw, Jade wanted the cat. But Jade is willing to put that grievance aside to help find Jin.

"We need to stick together, just in case!"

If Skyfire's mood is sour, Ladon's is practically acidic. Not that he isn't a grumpy, scowling jerkface ninety percent of the time anyway. But he'd caught up on the network post he'd missed on his way here.

Ladon had once thought no one could top Guivres in terms of sheer, cavalier stupidity. He now knows he's wrong. Jin didn't just endanger himself, after all. Ladon's made more and more aware of this as the group shows up. Two kids so far-- one with his group. The girl, Jade. Ladon's not okay with her putting herself in harm's way over this. He'll be damned if he lets a kid get hurt.

Ladon eyes Skyfire. "Yeah? And when AM shoots you outta the sky, then we got two to rescue. Don't get cocky. S'what got Jin into this mess."

He tugs his hat at Jade. "Don't usually go doin' rescue missions, but I'm agreein' with the kiddo here, yeah? Better we stick together."

"If you need me to, I can try using my goggles?" She puts them on, curious devices with spirographs on the lenses and a manner of screens visible from the other side. "They show me anyone in the Zone at the present moment!"

"That would be extremely good, yes," says Tick, his eye whirring. Excellent. More eyes, better eyes. "Please do so. AM may disrupt you, but trying always helps more than it hurts."

The goggles sound useful. Now that Skyfire has taken off on his own (The damn idiot-- Ladon was not going to rescue him if he got his ass shot or worse. Why were there so many cocky dumbos on this station anyway?) Ladon leans in to get a better look at the strange contraption Jade's put on. The stuff in this place just kept getting weirder. He gave a low whistle.

"Aces, kiddo. Whaddeya see?"

She places her hands on either side of the goggles, focusing on her mental image of Jin -- and hisses when all she gets is a blurry picture with static and a shock as someone hacks her imaging system. "Ouch!"

A shake of her head, and she recaptchalogues them to replace them with her normal glasses again. "Something got in the way. But since I could see him for a moment, he's definitely in this Zone!"

"AM is indeed powerful." Tick hops onto Jade's shoulder now. "Could you discern a direction?"

He's very eager to get going. At least Skyfire is already searching, and Tock's team has moved out of sight. Tick wants to get out of this unstable zone as soon as they find Jin Tian. The volcanoes are too active for his liking, and even now a tremor rocks the ground. The nearest volcano growls angrily.

Ladon jumps a little at Jades yelp, hand hovering above her shoulder and wincing in sympathy. However, once she seems okay and confirms Jin's here, Ladon straightens up, takes out his gun. The volcanoes are making him nervous, but the idea of AM siccing something on them is his main concern-- a mobster always goes in expecting a gun fight, after all.

He starts off in the general direction, opposite to the one the other group took. "Stay close, yeah? Place looks like it's gonna blow, we might needa get outta here fast."

Jade pulls out her own gun -- a trusty rifle -- and nods. "He's in that direction." She gives a point the way that Ladon is heading, and follows after him, eyes straying to the volcano. What if it explodes? She can fly, but can the others...?

Tick falls silent, clutching to Jade's shoulder as they walk. His telescoping eye watches the landscape, while his other eye watches the nearest volcano. Lava is no issue for him and his brother, but an eruption will make it harder to find Jin Tian, or might even kill him. That can't be allowed to happen.

Another tremor shakes the ground, this one stronger. Lava spurts up out of a crack about a quarter mile away and ash starts to fall regularly from the volcano.

Well damn. This place is just about ready to explode. As a fellow dragon, Ladon has a feeling Jin has some flame tolerance, but he doubts any creature could survive a lava flow, dragon or not. He finds himself instinctively moving between Jade and the lava spurt. He wouldn't be much protection from it, but instincts re: children are hard to ignore.

"This place gets too dangerous, we'll needa get outta here." It's obvious, of course, but he wants the cat to know where he stands. A fellow dragon is a fellow dragon, but Ladon's not about to let Jade or himself die in an eruption to save Jin. "S'find him quick, yeah?"

He steps up the pace of his footfalls.

Her footsteps pick up as well, and she tries the specs again to receive only static. "Do you think he would've hidden himself? If he was injured?"

"I will not abandon Jin Tian," Tick says firmly. And he doesn't say it, but he'll do his best not to abandon these people either. Jin Tian would get upset and an upset Jin Tian is an inefficient Jin Tian.

"I do not know. It is possible, also, that he has merely been trapped somewhere. This zone is in constant--wait."

Tick's eye whirs as it zooms in on an outcropping of rock another quarter mile away. There's a lifeform there. It registers strangely, but no animals that size live near volcanoes.

"I believe I have found him. There." He points at the rocks. "We must--"

He doesn't finish, because at that moment there's a cataclysmic roar behind them and the earth quakes again. Lava spurts out of a massive crack in the side of the mountain. The flow is heading away from them (and toward the other team), but the explosion sends shocks strong enough to knock them off their feet, and the ground splinters in front of them, a several foot crack opening almost at their feet.
