The temptation has become too great, and now that he has nothing to hide, why not? He's free to fly however much he wants. Honestly having to walk most places has been a chore. He steps off the roof of the Normandy base and allows himself to fall. The City had been like this all the time. All the high-rises he could just leap from and take off. The city lights at night- and there had been so many people who could fly as well. So many people to race or turn corkscrews and loops with. As much as he has here, the wind rushing by his ears makes him miss that. It makes him miss before that, too. Having wings.
He catches himself before he hits the ground, rocketing up above the moderate rooftops of the residential zone, leaving that glowing contrail like a blue ribbon across the artificial sky. Despite how roomy it is on the station, there is still the feeling of being trapped, but he'll settle. It's all he can do. This is enough. He speeds along as much as he can without hurting himself before rolling down below the buildings, weaving in and out.
He's nowhere near as maneuverable as a Seeker, but he can dash faster than any of them in a straight run, and he still does well for a shuttle as far as turns go. Having been partnered with Starscream for so long, he had to learn to catch him every once in a while when he decided that ditching the poor rig was a fantastic idea and leading him on a chase through the system was all glorious fun. Thinking of him leaves a bitter taste in his mouth now, though.
Right now, it's best to simply clear his head, and this is the only way that truly seems to work for him. He's much more confident in the air, and he belongs there, anyway. He was never built to be graceful on his feet. Awkward and slow... weightlessness allows him fluidity and his mind finds purchase when his body has no obstructions.
He straightens out and head straight up as far as he's allowed until he can tap the ceiling of the station before letting himself drop backwards, coming out of it in a slow banking turn.
Right.
No worries up here.
