About pretending to be an animal? Hmm. It's a kid thing, I think. Pretending to be something you are clearly not can be for many reasons. Sometimes it is to explore one's possibilities or escape reality. There are many reasons, each individual would probably tell you something different.

Don't you celebrate the day you were written? That's kind of what a birthday is, I guess. It's like saying, "wow, I'm lucky enough to have been here for another year!" And it's also just a time to acknowledge that person and be thankful for knowing them. Thing like that.
Heh, and pretending, well! I'm not really sure why it's fun. I guess because you get to step out of yourself for a little bit. You can run around doing other things, stuff you wouldn't normally do. It's fun! But, I guess fun itself is kind of hard to define.
