be you and take care of yourself before you take others on. because it's hard to take personal care when you have other people who need you to take care of them. and if you don't know how to care for yourself, you'll always feel like there's a void there. even if it means being selfish for a while - you have to take care of yourself to care about others. it was difficult for me to actually understand that until i became really removed from everyone else and actually slept when i was supposed to instead of talking with whoever about whatever problems, and to do homework instead of driving whoever somewhere, you know - those things.
it's hard.
