I'm glad I got that sad entry out of my system, because right after that I was able to feel so much better!
Things that helped:
1.) Weifei and I daydreamed about a "sand spa," the mere thought of which has the power to magically relax us and make us feel better. Seriously, close your eyes and think of a sand spa. Ahh. Didn't you lose some of the tension in your shoulders?
2.) Dreaming of a sand spa caused me to think about more immediate solutions to the problems at hand (tiredness, hostile weather, hectic schedules, and ridiculous stiffness and lingering pain from the car-wreck...), the best of which seemed to be a hot tub. I then came up with the crazy idea of getting up early to go to the jacuzzi at the RPAC tomorrow morning before classes and work, and Weifei... agreed! I am so pleased with her! I am even more pleased that Barwick randomly offered to drop us off there. So yes, tomorrow morning I will hopefully experience deep relief (and great amusement.)
3.) I just had a spontaneous hoe-down with Barwick in my room, just like the good old days! There are SO many songs we mutually love that I haven't played or heard in a long time, so it was exciting. We danced around and while I did this I observed how mysteriously happy Hendrix appeared to be about the whole situation. Seriously, he was extremely friendly and quit being angry the entire time.
4.) "I think at the Victoria's Secret Semi-annual Sale I will have to buy a matching bra and panty set that is absolutely RIDICULOUS," Barwick said. "That way, when I feel I am taking myself too seriously, I can wear it and laugh at myself all day." I agreed that this was possibly the best idea ever, and thus we made solid plans with other housemates to pick her up right after class on Thursday and rampage out there before they close. Hopefully I will then return with the most ridiculous lingerie I can find, ready to face what might be a difficult quarter.
5.) We changed plans for the game tomorrow: rather than going and doing the Schott thing, we're just gonna relax at home, order a pizza, and be comfy and warm. We'll have good seats, freedom to come and go from the room as we need, and no long nasty walk in the cold back home at the end of the night. It pleases me to think of us clustered by the TV.
6.) Barwick and I talked happily about Spain, and I discovered I have something called an Arab Bath and wine in juiceboxes to look forward to. I may or may not make it to Morocco this summer, but Granada and I will be good friends. And my trip might end in California.... Yes, there are good times ahead.
I love my friends.
