I'm not afraid of Agni anymore.
In attempt to feel better (I've been sick all day! meh!) I took a really hot shower, shunned my towel, and walked into my room dripping wet, pausing before my altar and pondering what to do. I then cranked up one of my favourite songs at the moment -- "Mahi Ve," an energetic Hinda song from the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho.
As I danced around getting dressed, I made a large mess and sang along. I picked up my belly-dancing belt and threw it across the room just to hear it make that intoxicating shimmering sound. I lit the golden candle I begrudgingl set on altar for Agni just for the hell of it. Then I suddenly remembered the translation of a certain repetitive lyric stanza:
"You speak with your eyes, my god
You dance into my mind, my god
It's like you to mix up some nectar, Golden One!
Come, Golden One, come my friend --
Come my lifelong friend!"
Can you guess who popped into my mind?
...And who smiled at me at last?
I saw his face and it was not unkind today.
Suddenly our eyes met!
