Life is purtyyyy good.
"Secret Garden" went amazingly well!!! She is a director who wants everything down to the fingernail perfect and stay that way every time. It was hard. But it payed off. The shows were extremely consistent. There weren't really any huge mistakes or tech accidents that I know of. Except one night I skipped one line of mine in my Ben scene. But no one knew and it didn't leave out anything too crazy.
I'm so proud of myself. That was the largest role I've ever had. Bigger than Cinderella in ITW. I had to use my head voice, belt, do Bollywood dance, be on stage for 18 out of 20 scenes. I acted more in this show than ever. I'm finding a bigger appreciation for acting now. I'm less afraid of it. Thank god. I can't be afraid of it because of this up coming summer. 3 straight shows!
Anyway, it's nice to have people notice me now. People at this school know who I am now!! Funny how that works.
I hope to get the Irene Ryan Award. Rachel might though, and she deserves it too. But I'd love the chance at a scholarship....and I feel like I deserve the award. I was on stage almost the entire time. Let's face it. And I HOPE I did pretty well while I was on stage.
A few days ago I sang for Georgia Stitt. She's beautiful. But it definitely wasn't the best masterclass I've ever had. I learned a little but nothing too amazing. Drama ensued with how they picked the singers...
Saturday I competed at NATS and defeated the champion of like 6 years. Christina Stroup, a friend of mine, has gotten 1st in her category many years in a row. This year I got 1st and she tied in 2nd with Alissa Simmons. Sad thing is, I went to this competition not caring about it at all!!! I didn't care at all if I got finals or placed. I honestly wanted to just leave! But I mean, I got finals and I did my best and I guess it payed off. But I don't get money. Blah. Just a certificate and the title. Meh. Whatevs. I hear it's good on the resume.
2 easy weeks of school left. Can't wait for me and Dom's gig where we are being Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. lol. I love Dom.
