Utattemita Hour! Look, I'm not late this time!

Aug 12, 2010 22:54

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, singing_robots! A year and a few days ago I first grabbed this username to have a journal wherein I could dump all of my Vocaloid/utattemita fangirling and recs. Stelas asked for it to be made into a comm so he could join in the geekery, and thus a small community of friends who were into Vocaloid was born. What I never expected was for it to grow into what it is today, and for that I am very grateful to each and every one of you. From all the people who post and comment, to the lurkers and sockpuppet accounts, thank you for being part of this dumb community. ♥ Here's to more years of singing robots!

And now that the cheesiness is out of the way, actual content:

【らっぷ野宮ハット狂】あぁあぁあぁああぁあぁああぁ【RAP】

AAAAAAAAAAAAAA [RAPBIT, NOMIYA AYUMI & TOPHAM HAT KYOU]
If you're not new around here, you probably already now how much I love rap covers. So here, have an epic rap version of a song that was all over the ranking a year ago. Not only is the rapping and singing amazing, the movie accompanying the song is also wonderful... in that bizarre, SHAFT-esque, mildly disturbing way.

【THE DYING MESSAGE】歌ってみた ver.Gero

THE DYING MESSAGE [GERO]
I may or may not have squealed when I saw this go up. He mentioned once in a live that he wanted to sing UtsuP's Gaichuu and then nothing happened... until now. :'D I love Gero when he's being a dork and JK-ing it up in pop songs, but this is just what his voice was made for. The screamo bits are especially impressive. Nnnnngh.

【Da-little】*tear* two-step mix を唄ってみた【DATEKEN】

*TEAR* TWO-STEP MIX [DA-LITTLE (HIRADON)]
Super fresh upload! This just went up a few hours ago along with other 4 songs. Da-little (better known as Hiradon/hrdn's) is back after a long absence with more Vocaloid songs! Of course, none of his covers disappoint. I only picked this one because I'm a DATEKEN fangirl and I love what he did with the song, here. A+++ recommended.

TORINOKO CITY [ENE]
My favorite Torinoko City cover by faaaaar. ENE's voice is both clear and sweet and it goes wonderfully with 40m's piano, here.

///UNKNOWN/// [DASOKU]
This is one of those songs where I can't stand the original at all (sob high pitched Luka sob), but the cover is seriously outstanding. Yes, I am a fangirl, but you can't deny how much Dasoku just keeps improving. :[

NEVER [WOTAMIN & KAKI CHOCO]
THE DELICIOUS NATTO SONG! I am sooo impressed with Minmin's Len here, especially the rap, I always love it when she uses her lower range. And Kaki Choco's Rin is nothing short of adorable and even a little sexy. Here's hoping for more collabs between them.

MAGNET [LIMONE & HANAGOE]
Limone, in case you're not familiar with him already, is that dude with the Kamiya Hiroshi voice, famous for all of his Zetsubou Sensei/Bakemonogatari/Durarara!! parodies. Hanagoe is his similar-sounding partner in crime! Together, they sing of forbidden love and sadism. ... Mostly sadism. Slightly NSFW. (For more of their terrible crimes, check this out.)

MADNESS OF DUKE VENOMANIA [6 PEOPLE]
Those six people being: Omaru, B o s a, @Kotomi, Momo, Riku, and Yuuto. When I first clicked on this a while ago I totally didn't expect it to be as good as it turned out to be, especially on the male front. Omaru's Gakupo is appropiately sexy and skeevy (don't miss the laugh) and Yuuto's Kaiko/Kaito voice is spot-on.

PERFECT CRIME [YORU & KIISUKE]
That wonderful retro song of questionably jailbait content, yesss. I almost didn't include this because... while not too fond of their voices together, both singers here sound good enough in their solo parts. Especially Yoru.

[REVERSED LYRICS] GGRKS -GO GOOGLE IT YOU SCUM- [AMATSUKI & AMEIRO]
The singing isn't remarkably good or anything out of this world, but, as the title implies, this is reverse ggrks! Which means Luka (a loli Luka, even) is the creeper-stalker to Gakupo's tsuntsuntsundere. The adlibs are especially hilarious, I love it.

Just Be Friends

JUST BE FRIENDS
Do not be fooled by the thumbnail! This is JBF... or more like Just Be Left Behind. It's the lyrics of JBF set to the music/video of Torinoko City and it's pretty amusing. You can listen to it the other way around here.

OTHERS:

CRYBABY PIPPO [SASAKURE.UK]
HAR HAR, snatching this from Stelas as payback for the MARiA SPiCa cover. sasakure appears to be on a roll, and he brings us this adorable song full of chiptune and a chorus that reminds me a lot of Perfume's electroworld. The animation in the PV is very similar to Tiger Rampage's, and while it's not as catchy as the former, it most certainly deserves a listen.

TRANSIENT ILLUSIONS [SHIGOTOSHITE]
We had a Rin solo, and then a duet, and now it's time for a Len solo! While he sounds a little choppy at the beginning (due to her still getting used to the Kagamines, I assume), as the song picks up and the chorus comes in, it all blends nicely into the traditional Shigotoshite sound we're used to. Really lovely. ♥

STARDUST METHOD [PAPIYON (CHOUCHO)]
This is Papiyon's latest (from almost a month ago) that Stelas totally failed to pimp because he sucks. "Godly from the intro", as the comments say, this is a beautiful, emotional ballad using both the traditional Miku and the vivid append. And Papiyon's piano is, as always, a joy to listen to.
