I'll be the first to admit it!
Not all of us here are fluent in Japanese. Many of us have no experience in the language. Hell, some of us (such as myself) still refer to it as "those wacky moon language runes"! Motoko is female? I mean, I assumed Hokori-tan was, but Motoko is a surprise to me. Will change that.
Like I said - or at least tried to say in my description of him; he's a GOOD subber, his style just doesn't work for reading while watching a PV. The explanations in parentheses, in particular, just kind of grated at me.
Yes I would, and I need to add him there; my problem is trying to figure out a way to describe him without going "OMFG I LIKE HIS GEKOKUJOU TRANSLATION BETTER THAN SOUNDARES'". Yeah, bias, I know.
...Vocaloid 1 - and to a degree, Miku - were so far in the uncanny valley in early days of Vocaloid that yes. I will openly admit I still harbor a bit of a bias. However, things keep coming up that change my mind on that, with the first I can think of being Conchita. In all seriousness, though, the quality of Vocaloid songs in general has gone up since the early days - True, things like softcell's works were fairly early in the technology, but many more people are doing things of that level nowdays with less trouble as people find out more about HOW to use the program. And yeah I'm Kagamine-biased too hush
As far as translators' styles... I try not to bring those up, and will look over the post to clean up any bias I may have, but yes, I'm biased towards "readability" over "accuracy". It doesn't have to be singable - in fact, very few of the English fansingers using RENA's lyrics do the songs justice - but I have to be able to understand the BASIC meaning of the lyrics when I read a translation the first time; I don't want to have to go back and pause and try to ken things out.

YouTube comments are untrustworthy. Just logging into YouTube halves one's IQ.
Oh and, lulz. Hokori-tan is my nickname for hokorichan. (We're friends, I proofread some of her draft lyrics for readability, accuracy and grammar. Also we're both Kaito fangirls.)
I'm not going to nitpick your way of describing things or anything, it's just that opinions in what seems to (well, supposedly, to me) be an objective listing seems a bit off~ (For me)
Personally, my ideal translation would be as accurate as possible whilst retaining readability and elegance (or as much as possible), which is what we aim for in our serious translations =D
