Not really. Although I did get a nasty sunburn even with the SPF50 I had repeated applied each day Friday throught Sunday. Today on the way home the tranction control started flashing with a service engine soon light which called for a call to OnStar and a diagnosis of issues with the antilock brakes, fuel oxygen/emmission control something, and bad transmission something, thank God for warranties.
I got to meet several different drivers who are all the nicest people in the entire world. And the king of them (other than the King Richard Petty)? David Ragan, the driver of the UPS car. The young man not only answered a question from my son with a chuckle (can I have your hat) , but turned around gave him good natured grief about the tshirt (Kevin Harvick) and hat (Hurley) he was wearing. Then he got one of his baseball caps, autographed it, and gave it to MK. MK wore that hat all weekend and all the way home. His dad offered to trade him or buy it from him and was flatly refused.
We returned home to discover MK had had entirely enough time with the rents and made like Houdini within an hour of unpacking. He did say see you tomorrow so we are guessing he has no plans to return this evening. :)
All in all the entire experience was perfect - minus the heat and humidity - but we're talking the midwest in June so I wasn't at all surprised.
And now I'm happy I can collapse in my own bed and have the day off tomorrow because I'm exhausted.
