3 weeks to go...

I had a good day today mainly because I got to chat to Bex and Mum (in separate calls) for an excessive amount of time - bring on the phone bill! Apart from that it has been a pretty quiet weekend - Martin has barely moved off the couch and I have spent a lot of time doing housework or catching up on emails. This is not a bad way to spend a weekend as it means that I have more money to spend in Auckland and Fiji. My holiday spending just got easier with the addition of a new credit card to my already well-stacked wallet. The best thing about this credit card is that it is a subsidiary card to Martin's card (i.e he has to pay the bill!).

Despite the joy of receiving this wonderful new piece of plastic I actually had a pretty awful week at work which culminated in a phone call from an abusive Australian - needless to say I had a good cry when I got off the phone and eventually felt better. My workmate got me a flower on Friday and a nice card to cheer me up which was really sweet and made me feel a lot better. This week shouldn't be too bad though as Tuesday is a public holiday so that should break up the week nicely.

It is now only just over 3 weeks until I leave for Auckland and I am pretty excited. I am in the final stages of the planning for Bex's Hens Night and sent the invites out today. I am having to post some stuff to Auckland for the Hens Night as I am worried about it fitting in my suitcase! I am also in the process of planning my social schedule while in Auckland and will hopefully be in contact with some of you in the next week or two to make plans.

The only problem with it being 3 weeks until my trip is that it means that there is only 3 weeks until Martin's trip to Shanghai. He is going there for a conference and leaves the day after I leave for Auckland. Martin is a bit stressed as he has lots of work to finish before his trip and I am a bit annoyed as I would love to visit Shanghai. I am sure there will be another opportunity in the next few years though.

I also had a revelation yesterday while getting dressed to go shopping - I was talking to Martin and realised what an awful memory he has when it comes to clothes (and my clothes in particular). This scares me because if I ever went missing and he had to make a police report one of the first questions they would ask him is "what was she wearing?". I am absolutely sure he would either get it completely wrong and make me look like a fashion retard or just not be able to answer at all! On the plus side I am pretty sure that this is not a trait peculiar to my husband but is a trait that can be found in a significant portion of the male population.
