a long lj entry (a.k.a what happens when i can't fall asleep because of annoying allergies)

ok, so friday had a few surprises in store...

not only did i get to meet up with john for dinner at tk wu in a2, but i also got to spend the evening w/ ania, who happened to be in the area. she joined up with john & i on our way to top of the park. some random bands were playing. it was entertaining. lol. then i remembered that Ani DiFranco was taking over the power center that night, so i tried to catch a glimpse... unsuccessfully. i thought it'd be fun to see her live, but i didn't feel like paying the $26. ran into some random peeps from uchoir who are living in the area for the summer, had a nice "catch-up chat," and got some good advice about the ed program that i've been looking into. oh, and i must note, the weather was beautiful :)

after ice cream at b&j's (and discovering that my picture is still on the wall from working the cow mobile last summer. lol. oh my), we split from john and ania & i drove back to get her car on the other side of town.
from there, the night took on a life of its own.

we decided to head back to the house and play the rest of the evening by ear, since i hadn't decided what time i was gonna drive back to b-town, yet (and i didn't feel like driving back super late). i borrowed a dress from ania, and put mine in the wash (chocolate ice cream+driving=not a good idea. lol) amanda was at home (hehe i can say "was at our house" in less than 2 months!) and we chatted for a bit before leaving to go to luke's appartment. ania and i helped luke's fiance make orderbs for their wedding on saturday, or should i say today :) *sigh* love is in the air. we had a lot of fun putting cheese and veggies together on toothpics. probably more than we should have. lol.
side note: i always have a great time with ania's polish family & friends ...they all remember me as "the girl who sang at magda's wedding last summer." haha. but luke knows me better, since he was living with ania during the school year (while he searched for a good job) and i, of course, was over at the house all of the time. anyways, our orderbs ending up looking like modern works of art :) i hope they went over well at the reception...

it was getting kinda late, so i decided to just spend the night, as ania originally suggested. i didn't have to drive home tired, plus, i could go with ania to the party for izumi. she didn't want to go alone. and she knew that i wouldn't mind seeing izumi again. hahaha. never in my life have i had such a purely physical attraction to someone as i do to him. let it be clear, i have no feelings for this guy whatsoever. but i am content to just look at him. lol. besides, i haven't seen him since poland last summer.

so we go. the only people that i really knew were izumi and phil, who i also met in poland. it was izumi's 21st birthday celebration, so pretty much everyone was drunk by the time we got there. izumi asks us, "is this not the classiest house party you've ever seen?" hahaha we kinda just laughed. it was supposed to be this dressy occassion, as phil instructed us to look classy before we came. after all, he made the guys buy new shoes. lol. but at this point, it all looked the same to us. drunk college kids. phil hooked us up with something that was supposed to resemble cosmos. we had a few sips, mingled, than left. not really our scene. and ania only wanted to make an appearance in the first place.

but here is the interesting part: everyone we bumped into had been in the same grade school classes with us. back in the good old days of thurston elementary. talk about freaky blast from the past. we sat and reminisced for a little while together. it was interesting to see them all in a "where they are now" sort of way...especially since the last thing i can remember about most of them has to do with recess or some old lunch room drama. lol. ania said that most everyone else who was there went to highschool with her. haha. yea, another reason we wanted to leave early. so we downed some dollar pizza on south u and headed home for ice cream and sleep.

this morning i woke up and the three of us (amanda included) had breakfast in our pjays. it made me excited for next year and all of the fun to come. we're gonna have such an awesome time living together. it's kinda funny...our house will be the definition of a melting pot society. this occurred to me as i was going upstairs to get dressed. i overheard ania speaking in polish with her parents and amanda speaking in chinese over the phone with her dad. we have the 100% polish immigrant, the culturally mixed half white-half asian, and the all-american. haha. or something like that. i have so much mixed ancestry i don't know what you'd call me. the general term "american" will have to suffice for now

at breakfast we started planning our first party at the house for all of our friends. a housewarming party, if you will. and a chance to get to know each other's peeps. by "started planning," i mean we made a half-finished guest list. lol. before i had to go, ania looked it over and nudged me, saying, "you should invite dustin"

*sigh* dustin. i miss him. i can't believe we met only 5 weeks ago. i still can't believe we met in italy. gosh. i hope he calls. i feel like a little girl again when i'm with him. falling all over myself. head over heals. literally. haha. to quote sarah, "i may act retarded, but at least i'm a retard in love." lol ok, ok, so not in love, but there is definitely something there that i can't explain...this connection...this bond...not to sound too cliche, but i honestly feel like he knew me before he met me...i didn’t have to say anything. i didn’t have to explain anything…he just knew.
and he has every trait that i’ve been searching for in a guy. a faithful christian who puts God first. a gentleman (opens doors, the whole bit). a funny, intelligent, nice guy. a listener as well as a talker. and, as an added bonus, a musician who likes gilmore girls!! perfect. lol. i was beginning to think that someone like him didn’t exist…
haha we read russian literature to each other in the villa's garden. so dorky. soo cute and romantic. tee hee. my kind of fun ;) i just want to see him again, preferably before the fall...

okay, this has definitely turned into a book. and i am feeling a little better now, so i'll give this sleep thing another shot. now that i can breathe.

gotta have energy for josh's grad partay tomorrow. and all of the dancing on table tops that zach has instructed me to do. lol.

sweet dreams.
