Good Lord, they just never die out, do they?

I feel a bit like Tony, who counts it as success when he's not accused of committing murder for a whole year.

Granted, it's a bit different in my case, but still.

I've just been accused of plagiarism by someone named "drtib". I don't even know that person. I also don't know which story I've allegedly plagiarized, or, as she (I'm assuming it's a she) ( Read more... )

argh!!!, ranting, bitchfest, fanfic, asshattery

That's her. I only actually know the pen name exists, but as far as I know, I never read any of her stories. Considering the fact that she apparently writes parodies of other fanfic would explain why I have stayed clear of her; that's the kind of thing that is really not my--ha ha!--cup of (green) tea.

You're absolutely right, that kind of "work" is a form of plagiarism, so her attacking me like this out of the blue for something I still don't know I supposedly did, makes it even worse. I mean... Pot? Kettle? Black? I for one would not accept it if she parodied any of my stories. If you want to write bad!fic or crack!fic, at least use your brain to come up with an original idea, don't make fun of other people's work. But that's just my two cents.

We're all stealing characters and the general set up or story idea from the creators of TV shows, so we need to be careful about pointing accusing fingers at others. I'm well aware of that. I've seen more than my fair share of fanfics that strongly reminded me of other stories, but I always tried to believe in the good of mankind and told myself that similarities are bound to happen. I only ever stepped in when it was absolutely obvious. But the crap she's pulling on me is just beyond ridiculous.
