I am disturbingly happy to be back in California, even the coldest part. I am staying with great friends, which is wonderful for everything except getting these papers done. The conference is good, although a lot of people look at me strangely and I've never known what that means. It made more sense last night when Jackie put cat ears on me and I forgot about them altogether.

If this is only the beginning of busy I'll be crashing in no time.
