Dollhouse 1x11: Briar Rose

I would like to say, in my defense, that I did actually watch this the other night. On the TV and everything. Also, it looks like they're not airing 1x13, which means that next week is probably it for the series. Oh well.

Ballard's plan was a non-plan. I don't exactly understand why his character has become so obsessed with Echo, but he has, and nothing seems to matter except that. "Mellie is a doll? Then I don't have to care about her at all! Echo/Caroline is a doll? I must rescue her!"
Also it was really interesting to see Wash mutate into Echo, which is so out of character compared to his other Joss and non-Joss roles. And I am still confused why there was a picture of Alpha in the FBI's system for the environmental guy. Alpha hacked it? Alpha conveniently looks like that guy? I have no idea. . .

I was thinking that maybe he knew Caroline from before, but we've seen her Important Highlights of the Past, and he wasn't in them, so, uh, I guess he just cares. Or maybe it was that she asked to be rescued and Mellie didn't? I dunno.

I think we saw the environmental guy dead at the beginning, and I don't think he looked like Alpha.

(The next/final episode is called "Omega." I'm sure they think they're so clever.)

Hmm, well, I clearly meant "mutate into Alpha" not "Echo", but anyway.
The "asking to be rescued" is the only excuse that isn't totally awful, but still not good.
I thought we saw a picture of the Environmental Guy when Ballard was at the FBI headquarters, showing the attractive black woman that he finally found something, and it definitely looked enough like Wash for me to go "Hey, Wash is going to be on the show!"
