Rachel Maddow = teh h0tness
This evening I finally managed to watch Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC. Unlike all of fandomsecrets, I am not ashamed of my giant crush on Rachel Maddow, and I will say so in a public post! She is my Lesbian Local Hero! She is intelligent and funny and total hotness! A few years ago I bought a random lesbian magazine I'd never heard of just because she was on the cover! I watched that stupid show with the annoying guy who wore bow ties because she was on it! I like exclamation points!
The only thing I don't like is her wardrobe. I have read interviews with her from a while back explaining how, yes, really, she is that butch, and could the makeup people just put the same makeup on her that they'd put on a guy. And when she was on the annoying guy's show, that's certainly what they did. And that's definitely what she looked like the time I saw her at NoHo Pride a few years back. Dykey in the kinda butch, button-down collared shirt way. (Did I mention the hotness? I did, didn't I? Guh.)
So I tuned into the show tonight, and she's wearing ridiculous amounts of makeup, makeup in TV-straight-girl amounts, and straight-girl blazer. (And speaking of the blazer? Whoever dressed her, dude, make sure whatever she's wearing under it is high-necked enough that you can tell she's wearing something at all. Because otherwise she looks like a flasher. Which is not good.) And why is her email address rachel@whatever? I know, I know, because women get to be on a first name basis with everyone. Whoo, heteropatriarchy.
I mean, not that I'm complaining. Okay, I am complaining. It just seems that from what I have heard about her that she'd be complaining, and I don't want her to be unhappy. Unless, you know, she's compromised on her principles for the sake of fame and fortune. Which is sad.
