The midnight release was, like, the worst-planned thing ever -- there were people crowding the lines even after announcements told them every 30 seconds to get out of the way until their number was called. And people were shouting spoilers ( Read more... )

Hey, Harry managed to cast two of the three Unforgivable Curses! Turns out, more forgivable than we thought.

Oh, right. I think Jen's scrawled comment in the margin at that point was "So how is he different from Voldemort?"

And all the good guys were doing it too, which was kinda weird.

Yeah. Not my favorite book.

Harry managed to set the wards when Hermione was disturbed. I'm not particularly thrilled with how Hermione was handled in this last book, though.

She was sidelined a lot, and didn't really have much character development of any sort. While Harry's off on his own little world, all she gets is a couple mentions about how she's crying a lot because Ron left, etc. She was more of a facilitator so that Harry would continue being useless.
