Death Gate Cycle

I have now finished reading the Death Gate Cycle. Seven books in four days. Woohoo. I remember just getting into non-Trek SF when the last of these books were coming out, and my tolerance for high fantasy wasn't quite high enough then. Some Dragonlance helped.

My verdict: exactly the sort of fantasy one comes to expect from Weis and Hickman. Elves, dwarves, dragons, magic, people taking over the world, wise old wizards who provide comic relief. So if one likes that sort of thing, it's a good series to read. Plus, Haplo/Alfred OTP 4-eva!

I wonder if I can ever play the computer game.

Perhaps now I can stop dreaming that lysimache is a Sartan, as I have dreamt for the past two nights. She insists she's not a Sartan, but I have only her word on that. And, come to think of it, I've never actually seen her natural hair color. It could very well be white with brown tips. Just because I've never seen her do magic, it doesn't mean she can't.

books, reviews, dreams, books: fantasy
