Buffy: "Sleeper" / SV: "Dichotic"

My head hurts. Want to sleep.

Buffy:

Eh. It was okay. I did like the Spikeness reasonably well -- I'm liking Spike more now than I liked him last season, that is. Anya/Spike was funny. Um. I can't remember most of what happened. This is probably bad. It was mostly about Spike having the weird shapeshifty person making him vamp people and he didn't remember, right?

Giles is not gonna die. If they were going to kill him suddenly, they'd have *done it* at the end, instead of stopping in mid-swing. And how come ASH gets initial credits when he had, like, three lines?

Also, wooooo! Aimee Mann! "This Is How It Goes" and "Pavlov's Bell" weren't the songs I would have picked from her new album to perform -- I like "Humpty Dumpty" and "High on Sunday 51" better -- but I really liked the Spike/vamp fight to "Pavlov's Bell," and how she kept singing anyway. Of course, this gives me even more reason to keep trying to sing the chorus as "trading blows," rather than "trading clothes." I was hoping they'd vamp her.

Wow, I guess the Aimee Mann was my favorite part, Very rarely does Buffy feature artists I'm already a fan of -- I'd *heard* of Bif Naked and Cibo Matto a lot before, and I'll definitely have to check them out now. The only other musician-type person they've done that I know I've heard of is Sarah McLachlan, and my primary association with TV and her music is still dS. Both shows used "Full of Grace," even, but I maintain that the best TV use of her music was "Possession" in dS.

Oh, and I also liked Nerf Herder before they did the Buffy theme song. Back when the local rock radio station was cool (in, like, 1996 -- they had a festival show including TMBG, whom they will never play now) they used to play Nerf Herder's "Sorry" a lot, and I really liked it. Heh. Love song that's kind of sad and kind of totally, utterly pathetic. I really ought to get an album of theirs or two. God knows how my brain dredged that song up for M/K when I probably hadn't heard it in three or four years.

Anyway.

Smallville:

Um. Bored now. Where is the Clark/Lex? The Chloe/Lana is funny, though. Lex with the nametag is funny. The doctor is cool. I really dislike plots that only work because the characters are stupid and don't talk to each other.

I thought Kansas was flat and did not have big mountainy foresty areas with huge dams. Hey, which Vancouver shows has this dam been in? I was thinking it was the one from the beginning of that TS ep "Blind Man's Bluff," the one that the girl who was high on Golden jumped off of. It seems like XF might have used it at some point, but I can't remember where.
