For those of you following me here who ship Steve/Tony and are unaware of this, the
Stony Trumps Hate charity auction is almost here. It's modeled after the recent Fandom Trumps Hate auctions, except just for Steve/Tony, and there are a hundred different creators all offering various Steve/Tony creative efforts.
There are some awfully big names in the fandom signed up, and honestly, what with the state of the world, I feel like angrily flinging money at charity might make me feel a little better. I have my eye on a couple people; I can't afford much, so I am hoping there will be bargains. I still can't decide if the best strategy on the people I super-want is "slowly inch up in small increments as I am outbid" or "bid one large don't-fuck-with-me-because-I'm-out-to-win-this bid." I feel like there must be a theoretical model for this somewhere. Isn't this what game theory is for?
Bidding goes live in about a week (and lasts for a week), but the creator pages are starting to go up now, and you should check them out because the mods made everyone a personalized banner with their favorite Steve/Tony moment (or their own art, if they're artists). They're really cool!
My creator page is
here, and yes, that banner is the cover of Iron Man #172, where Steve carries Tony, passed-out drunk, out of the flames. Classic 616 angst and h/c, my favorites. (The mods were like "would you like the background in pink or emo?" and there was clearly only one choice.)
(I know, I haven't written my FTH fic yet. After the RBBs, I swear. I'm almost done with this one!)
