Things read and watched
If you were ever considering watching the Dragonlance animated movie, don't. It is... really bad. It is unwatchably bad. I am at a loss as to why Michael Rosenbaum, Kiefer Sutherland, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Lucy Lawless all needed money that badly, which apparently they must have because they agreed to be in this thing.
On the other hand, I enjoyed Lev Grossman's The Magicians enough that I'm going to read the sequel, even though I think it could have done with a little less of being gritty for the sake of being gritty. Also it is marketed as Harry Potter for adults when in fact only the first half is HP-like. The second half is a weird cross of The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I am told the sequel is pretty much Dawn Treader. So, hey, that should be interesting. Remixes are fun, right?
