Doctor Who 6x02: Day of the Moon

As River Song says, "Spoilers."

I don't really have too much to say.

1. The plot clearly thought it was very very clever and I'm intrigued to find out what's going on with Amy's Time Lord daughter. Or whatever that is, but that's what we're currently supposed to think, right?

2. Would it have killed them to hire a few Americans? The guy running the orphanage was... unspeakable, and every time Nixon said "I'm President Nixon" I kept seriously wondering if there was supposed to be some plot point where someone else was going to be pretending to be him, because that was just unbelievably awful.

3. Okay, so Badger's person he couldn't marry was black *and* male. Great, will someone tell them their episode was set after Loving v. Virginia and that same-sex marriage was so not an issue? Like, maybe people were talking about it in 1990. This was 1969. The end of the episode is a few months after Stonewall, which perhaps you might remember was a police raid on a gay bar where people dared to... be gay. In public. Marriage, not so much on the mind. I would have accepted the guy being happy to get to keep his job. Why did they even mention it? I know, because it might make people feel better now? Because no one did any research?

4. Can we stop breaking Rory's heart, please?

5. Also Rory's 60s glasses were very snazzy.

This concludes my opinions.

And now, I... work on kink meme fills. Uh. Yeah.
