Updatey Updaterson
Since it's been so long, thought I better update. I always hate updating when things are shitty, which is why it's been so long. I'm basically the lowest I've ever been in my life, in some aspects....while in others, I'm the luckiest I've been in my life. So I guess that figures. The only thing keeping me going, keeping my head up. I'm fairly happy, considering the circumstances. No chemical imbalanced nose dives in mood. So that's good. Money...sucks. Got laid off from some jobs. Working at the Beauty Center again, which just sorta fell into my lap. Enjoying my time with the new coworkers though. Hanging out, doing crazy things, they are a wild bunch, which I always welcome into my life, especially when things are stale and stagnant. Friends and what not in general are good. Still meeting new people, building new friendships. Nursing old ones. Old ones going strong. It's all pretty great. I don't know if it's the time of year, but I just feel a lot of love for every friend and totally want to reconnect with old ones, and let the new ones know how much I care. Maybe I'm just getting old. Eek. Anywho, the interior design work is put on hold until next year. There is no work this time of year. Ugh. It's like having a seasonal career. I still feel like there's no way I'm ready to do business for myself, I feel so scared and unprepared, but I have some really great mentors, so that's great. I just need to keep motivated I think, which is really hard buried under all of this growing debt. I do love the work though. I can draw for several hours a day for one Interior Designer. I love doing it and I'm always impressed with the finished product, sometimes I think it only comes out well if it's for somebody else or if a grade depends on it. And the other Interior Designer is teaching me the down and dirty business parts, the billing, the filing, the costs of everything and the grunt work. In the meantime, I am getting SOME networking done working at the BC. Ran into an old coworker who works for a staffing agency who is going to try and help me out. Also, a regular customer seems to be an old boss of MINE from the showrooms, that should be interesting. Ran into lots of old faces: Willow, Aunt No No, Tina....makes for interesting days. Also, it's good having my Sissy back in my hood. Her new place is awesome and obscenely cheap and in a decent hood. I'm jealous. My living situation is still pretty sweet, living with good friend Jackie. It's always chill/entertaining/quiet/funny/etc here. Got my best friend only a few blocks away. Soooo many friends within walking distance. I love living here. So that's about it. I'm sure I'll do an end of year summary, Pros and Cons, like I do every year. Until then.....
