It's too quiet...

I keep feeling the need to "blog" since I've been reading so many other people's blogs lately.  I'm trying to shed the portion of my personality that whines and complains and envies.  Unfortunately, that leaves me rather silent these days.  It's Sunday.  Easy like Sunday Morning.  Everyday is Like Sunday.  I wish.  I honestly love Sundays and wish I always had them off, although I'm quite bored right now.  I woke up far too late to make it to the Montclair Farmer's Market.  Which I haven't been to in ages, not that I can really afford anything anyway.  I could really go for those New Orleans plate of BBQ ribs though.  Eh, I'm slowly easing myself back into vegetarianism anyway.  Hence craving the ribs.  So anywho, there are huge billowy dark clouds out that periodically block the bright shining sun.  I'd love to go for a walk, I'm trying to get healthier and back into shape since I've recently found out I've gained about 20lbs of FLAB since I've lived here in Oakland.  PSH!  It would be one thing if it were muscle, but it's not, it's unhealthy belly flab, probably in part to all the stress from school and jobs and money, but also, I've definately found myself without wilpower when it comes to drinking and indulging in whatever food makes me feel good at the time.  And trust me, it's NEVER anything short of a heart attack on a plate.

Friday night I had an AMAZING night.  Went to opening night at the Fox Theatre to see Social Distortion.  One of those bands that I just FALL IN LOVE WITH each time I see them.  I love the music, I listen to it semi-regularly, but there's just something about the atmosphere of their concerts, I love watching them play, it's like crack.  A lot of bands are like that for me though, it's probably the LIVE SHOWS that are the crack, not necessarily who are playing them.  Anyway, I'm definately on a natural high after seeing them each time.  I had to watch them with a belly full of gin to tolerate being in the room with several hundred people with a belly full of whiskey.  And it definately helped to let the bliss overtake me.  I got to hear a few favorite songs, including Reach For The Sky, which I can't get out of my head ever since!  Mary came with me to brave the crowd to the front of the stage so I could get a true fix of Mike Ness up close and personal.  That should hold me over to the next tour.  Then after, we decided to take a cab to Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe........unfortunately, there was a cab SHORTAGE, so we walked all the way from fucking 18th to 40th Street on Telegraph the whole way.  I was happy we did though, to burn off a little of the gin and a little of the flab.  When we got to the corner by my house we finally snagged a cab to Rudy's.  When we sat down, I realized one of my teacher's from FIDM was only 1 table over, I tried to pretend I didn't notice, as did she, mostly because I was still quite hammered and it's just REALLY awkward to talk to a teacher when you're hammered hahah!  I discovered the best thing though.  "Your Own Private Eyedaho", oh my fucking god.  Hashbrowns with melted cheese and an over easy egg on top!!!!!  The BEST thing after drinking.  A great end to an amazing night.

I am taking a vacation from DOWNER-LAND this week to enjoy life.  Social D has kicked it off.  I'm so excited (and I just can't hide it) about my plans coming up.  Wednesday I'll be on Cloud 9 floating down to Santa Cruz.  I've got the day off, so I think I'll be heading down early to enjoy a little beach time, hopefully it's sunny out!  Then, I'll get to see The Warriors that night, whom I haven't seen in FAR FAR too long.  I might even try to video tape it.  It's gonna be so great, then I'll have to blast The Warriors out of the car the whole ride home hahah.

Then Thursday I'm attending the Flashback Thursday night movie at the Berkeley United Artist Theatre because they are playing "Nightmare on Elm Street".  WOOO!  I think they'll be a good size group of us going.  Tentatively, Rachael, Jillian, Mary, Jackie and possibly my sister.  I have a feeling we'll find out we missed some GEMS since I missed the beginning of the Flashback series.  UGH.  I put in a lot of requests last year, so I'm sure I probably missed some of my requests.  But Nightmare was one of my request, and the MOST important one!  YAY!

Then Friday is going to rule too.  Jackie's friend Ashley B informed us of a great club night happening at Mighty.  The Black Valentine Masquerade.  A big group of us are getting together to go out for that and celebrate Jackie's birthday in a Friday the 13th Valentiney kind of way hahah.  We get to dress all dark masquerade, and we've all been trying to get together for a club night FOREVER, so it's gonna be a great excuse.  Plus, it's dancing, so that counts as getting into shape as well hahah!

THEN, it doesn't end there, the "vacation week" goes on until the 15th, because I'm going to see MADBALL!!!!  I'm so excited for that.  I haven't seen them in like 3 or 4 years.  I looooove seeing them, it's always so much fun.   So that'll be the perfect topper to the "week".  Then it's back to the grind.  Well..........until the 21st, when I think I'll see Nothington.  Hhaha.
